The man in the passenger seat
About Ger's Driving School
There is no team here, no head office, no faceless we. There is one instructor, his name is Ger Fallon, and he learned this city the long way round.

I am Ger Fallon. I have been an Approved Driving Instructor on the RSA register for twenty-three years, and before that I drove a taxi around Dublin, which is a longer education in bad junctions than any course could hand you.
The taxi is where I learned the city properly. Not the map version, the real one. Which backstreet actually gets you across Dublin 15 when the Snugborough roundabout is jammed. Which set of lights on the Navan Road turns amber the moment you commit. Which junction has somebody in the wrong lane every single evening. I carried every kind of passenger over every kind of road, at every hour, in weather that turned the Ongar road into a black mirror. You learn to read a road quickly when your week's wages depend on not clipping it.
When I moved into instructing, that is what I brought across with me. I do not teach a diagram. I teach the road exactly as it behaves at the spot the Finglas test centre is going to send you, because that is the road you get judged on, not the one in the booklet.
How I teach it
Chatty, plain, and generous with the local knowledge, because that is the whole value of learning with someone who drove these roads for a living. I will talk you through a junction the way I would talk a fare through a shortcut, telling you what is about to happen before it happens. I will tell you the test is hard, because it is, and I will not dress it up, because dressing it up is how people fail it. What I will not do is leave you guessing about what the road is going to do next.
I care about two things, in this order. I want you to not get hurt, and I want you to pass. I am not going to give you a speech about believing in yourself. I am going to tell you that you are closer than you think, and then ask you to take the Coolmine roundabout one more time until it stops rattling you.
This is not a sign-up page wearing a friendly photo. There is no online basket, no deposit, no countdown clock. I teach people to drive around Dublin 15, and I write the rest of it down for free so you understand the thing before you pay anyone a cent for it.
Where I work
Blanchardstown and the wider Dublin 15 patch, the northwest quadrant of the city, and the run down to the Finglas test centre where most of my learners sit their test. Castleknock, Clonsilla, Ongar, Mulhuddart, Tyrrelstown, Corduff, all of it familiar ground I have driven at every hour there is.
If you want to understand how the whole process works before you commit to anyone, that is what the guides are for. If you want to know what I cover in the car, it is on the services page. And if you have read enough and want to start, the contact page is where you find me. I will not chase you afterwards. That was never how I worked.
